Scientific NamePittosporum undulatum
AdaptationsIt has dense leaves and can grow up to 10-15 metres tall so it can capture the most amount of sunlight possible, over and above other plants which may be blocking its view. Which therefore enables it to develop faster. The plant also develops an orange fruit which drops many seeds once opened. The fruit attracts birds which open the seeds, dropping them to the ground which then extends the plants territory as the seeds then grow into further plants.
Human ImpactIn the past, bush fires burnt down the Sweet Pittosporum, causing it's population to decrease, but now fires are less likely to occur due to higher precautions and using the plants seeds (as stated above in the adaptations), it can repopulate.
